The Sickle Cell Disease Association of Atlantic Canada raises awareness and supports families living with Sickle Cell Disease and Thalassemia. The organization partners with various groups to increase awareness and encourage blood donation within African Nova Scotian, African, Caribbean, Black, and other racialized communities. They also provide culturally informed education to dispel myths and address fears. Their goal is to increase the number of ethnically compatible donors in Atlantic Canada.
