This raises important questions about the thresholds and consequences of not declaring cash to customs.
According to Vietnamese regulations, travelers must declare cash amounts exceeding VND15 million (approximately $600 USD) when entering or leaving the country. Failure to declare can result in administrative penalties, but in certain cases, like the one involving Mr. Zhao Fuyi, it can lead to criminal prosecution. His case highlights the potential risks of under-declaring or failing to declare large sums of cash.
