Polling place out of paper ballots?

Polling place out of paper ballots?

I was trying to vote at 1900 W Irving Park Rd (North Center, Silvies) this morning but they didn't have any paper ballots. The line was already pretty long and people were waiting to use the electronic machines. One of the election judges told me they had escalated the issue to their highest powers, but it didn't seem like anything was being done about it. Has anyone else had any issues voting here today?

The current situation is either extremely encouraging or discouraging, and I'm having trouble deciding which one it is.

At this early hour, I suspect that the delays are due to incompetence rather than unusually high voter turnout.

It seemed like the electronic voting machines were never delivered. However, the line I was in was quite long, with about 10 people waiting to use the machines, which is somewhat encouraging. People were willing to wait, and that's a good sign.

There's been a problem with ballot distribution at Goethe Elementary in Bucktown, specifically in Ward 1, Districts 4 and 5. The issue has been ongoing for two hours, with the machine in District 5 also malfunctioning. Poll workers have been trying to resolve the issue, but so far, nothing has been resolved. I'm considering leaving to vote at a supercenter.

I was in that same line of people, and I was surprised when the election official asked them to break the seal. Fortunately, the judges intervened and prevented that from happening. One correction: there's only one electronic voting machine available. Paper ballots are supposed to be delivered soon, and it seems that the situation has improved after one of the judges contacted Alderman Matt Martin.
