...House in Bali: Signs in Russian and English for Noisy Motorbikes...
Pererenan Village in Bali has installed warning signs in Indonesian, English, and Russian to address complaints about noisy motorcycle exhausts, which have disrupted the peace of residential neighborhoods. The village head, I Nyoman Sumartana, explained that the signs are meant to appeal to both local residents and international visitors, encouraging considerate riding.

Sumartana emphasized that these signs are not a new system of traffic penalties, as Pererenan village officials do not have the authority to impose fines for loud exhausts. He added that they may coordinate with the police to address any further issues. The village plans to expand its awareness campaign and add more signs as needed.
By installing multilingual signs, Pererenan Village is taking a proactive approach to ensure that residents and visitors alike are aware of the issue and its importance. This initiative reflects the need to balance tourism activity with the everyday lives of the community.
Arrived in Bali in 2017 from South Korea. Still figuring things out, writing it down as it happens.
