My dad has Parkinson's and the dementia is starting to take hold. I need to find someone to help with his needs, but I don't know where to start or how to select the right service.

You might be looking for an actual nurse or an aide/sitter. Nurses don't generally bathe patients or sit with them. Check if your dad qualifies for home health nursing care and also look into places like care.com for caregivers. This will help you decide what kind of care he needs and how to find the right person.

You're looking for Home Health Agencies. They can provide the care your dad needs, including bathing and assistance with daily tasks.

We tried home health agencies, but they didn't work out for us. We ended up hiring someone directly, which worked better for our needs.

Try the S.O.A.R. group on Facebook. It's a great resource for supporting our aging relatives.

If you're caring for a loved one, you might also find support in groups focused on dementia care. My mom discovered a helpful group when she was caring for my father in a nearby senior living community.
