Should I visit Lombok with a lot of traveling in Bali?

I'm planning a solo trip to Bali and have a flight in this week. I've booked a resort in Canggu for the first few days and then want to visit Ubud, Lombok, and other places in Bali. I'm worried about traveling too much and want to relax.

Extending the itinerary to 14 days is a good idea, as it allows for a decent amount of time to explore the various locations. However, be prepared for a lot of movement, which might be tiring.

That sounds like a good plan. I was a bit concerned about the extra time, but it seems like it will be manageable.

Considering an earlier trip to Lombok might be a good idea, as it's close to many other islands and offers a unique experience. Kuta Lombok is a great spot for some fun in the sun.

I recently spent 18 days in Bali and had a similar itinerary, minus Canggu and plus Gili Air. I also had 2-4 days in each of the other locations, which worked out perfectly for me.

I'm curious about your experience on Gili Air. How did you get around the island, and was the ferry ride smooth or did you experience any motion sickness?

Gili Air was an okay experience for me, but I'm not a big fan of swimming or snorkeling. The horseback riding on the island was a bit of a letdown, but the bars and open-air cinemas were amazing. I found that 2 days was more than enough time to explore the island, and I used a public speed boat to get there.

If you have the time and inclination, consider visiting Lombok. It's a shame to miss out on the opportunity to explore the surrounding islands. Ultimately, it comes down to personal preference and how you like to travel.

If relaxation is your goal, I would recommend avoiding Canggu and sticking to a more laid-back itinerary. However, if you're looking to explore the island, Ubud and Kuta Lombok make great bases for day trips.
