I've been dealing with fibromyalgia, suspected autoimmune disease, and debilitating depression and ADHD lately, and I'm struggling to deep clean my automatic litter box, which my roommates aren't comfortable with using the bathtub for.

I'm a veterinarian in New York and I often have clients who are new to the city. They ask me about the typical work hours of corporate jobs in the city. Can you tell me when you usually arrive and leave your office?

I was dropping off up family at JFK today and ended up getting a ticket for briefly stopping on the side of the road. Our flight had been delayed and rescheduled, so I pulled over for a minute to check my phone. There were 3 cars in front of me that were also stopped, so I assumed it was some kind of waiting area or cell phone lot. An NYPD officer pulled up behind me and asked if it was an emergency. I explained that we were waiting for our flight and checking the updated information. He pointed to a sign saying stopping was only allowed for emergencies and gave me a summons for 'Not Obeying Signs.'

I visited the Queens ACC on Sunday and was turned away by someone who kept telling me 'there's a system, you need to follow the system' but wouldn't explain anything. I asked other volunteers but they all seemed really timid and kept directing me back to the guy who wouldn't explain anything so we ended up just leaving even though we drove almost an hour to get there. We're looking for a young cat but not a kitten, and we have a toddler who is respectful but makes things slightly more difficult. Can someone tell me how it works to go to the ACC to adopt?

I'm a software worker who's been living in New York since 2018, and I've been using my OMNY card to pay for public transportation. I'm concerned about being stopped by MTA police for not having proof of payment, especially since I've never seen this happen before on a bus, and I'm wondering if it's a new policy or a random occurrence.

I've noticed that a lot of the MTA's retail space is empty, including newsstands and new retail space in LIRR Grand Central. I'm wondering why they don't lower the rent until people take the spaces, or if they don't want to do that, why they keep including it in new projects.

I saw a mom today in my building leave two children with the doorman, saying she was just going on a quick dash to the grocery store, which is a 10-minute walk away. It seems unsafe, but maybe I'm overthinking it.

I've been laid off for a while from my full-time job and want to find something part-time to get by. I spoke to a barista the other day and they told me its super competitive in the city and usually require someone with 2-3 years experience. The thing is I don't have any part-time experience to add to my resume like barista/bartending/etc. What other jobs could I consider? I am guessing employers don't want to hire someone who previously did office work. My only part-time experience is from 10+ years ago where I worked as a cashier.

I'm an electrician who's been in NYC for 3 years, and I often work with people who are new to the city. I'm looking for a liquor or beer superstore where I can buy in bulk at a good price, similar to Bevmo or Total Wine and More on the west coast or Binny's in Chicago.
