Smallpox Memorial Hospital
About
The Smallpox Hospital is a historic building that was once used to treat and isolate smallpox patients. It was designed by James Renwick Jr. and opened in 1856. Today, it is a New York City Landmark and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Friends of the Ruin is working to stabilize the building, restore its landscape, and make the site accessible to the public.
