I'm curious about the stickers on the BBQ chickens at Maxi, specifically the ones at Jean Talon and Pie-IX. I've noticed them before but never thought much of it. I'd like to know what they signify.

They indicate what time they were cooked.

The colored stickers on the chicken are likely used to track the item's storage duration. The colors themselves are probably internal codes and don't convey any specific information to the customer.

The colored stickers are probably used to indicate the cooking order. If the store follows a first-in, first-out policy, the color in the back of the display should represent the freshest items, while the color in the front represents the oldest items. For instance, if the store has a daily cooking schedule, the color in the back might be white and the color in the front might be blue.

Each store chain uses its own unique color code to differentiate between cook batches. For example, a store might use a daily rotation of white, blue, red, and green stickers. This allows employees to quickly identify which chickens have been stored for the longest period. Typically, stores have a maximum display time for their products, so if a batch exceeds this time, it's replaced with a new one.
