Adding a REM station at St Charles Boulevard?

Adding a REM station at St Charles Boulevard?

I run a small taco stand in Montréal and I think a REM station at St Charles Boulevard would really benefit the West Island branch. It's surrounded by houses and businesses, and there are new apartments being built nearby, and there is empty land at the northwest corner of the A40 and St-Charles intersection that could be used to build both a station and more apartments. Right now, the Kirkland and Fairview Pointe-Claire REM stations are both rather far and hard to get to for people who live near St-Charles.

The location, with an interchange and several industrial buildings, doesn't seem to have much potential for nearby residents or development. Additionally, the REM is a regional train, so it's not surprising that they wouldn't want to build multiple stations. The decision seems reasonable.

In contrast to other West Island stations, this location has a decent number of people nearby and the surrounding land has development potential. The St-Charles location, on the other hand, has a bridge that makes it easier to access from both sides.

The initial plan was to build the station at a different location, but the city of Kirkland wanted it moved to the current site. The strip mall could be converted into a more dense area, which is part of Kirkland's long-term plan. The St-Charles location doesn't offer the same opportunities.

It's interesting to see that area, which appears to have been planned for development, but nothing has come to fruition. The current state of the area looks odd.
