ExpatsList now covers Montreal, Canada. The city has its own directory, classifieds board, questions section and recommendations feed, all reachable from the Montreal page.
Why Montreal
This site exists for people who have moved somewhere and have to work out how it functions. Montreal qualifies because Quebec selects its immigrants separately from Ottawa and French is the working language, so the path in looks different from the rest of Canada.
What is here today
Honestly, not much yet. Coverage starts empty and fills in. The business directory is organised the same way as every other city we cover, with categories for housing and relocation, legal and immigration services, healthcare, schools and language courses, everyday repairs, and food. Listings are added over time rather than imported in bulk, so the early weeks will look sparse.
How to help
If you run a business in Montreal that serves people who are new to the city, you can add it. If you have already been through the arrival paperwork here, the questions section is where someone three months behind you will look. Recommendations work best for the places that are hard to find without knowing somebody.
Corrections are welcome. If something on the Montreal pages is wrong, say so and it gets fixed.
