Miami Q&A

I've been looking for a bartending job in Wynwood, Miami, and it's been really hard. I've applied to over 150 places, but no one has even reached back out to interview. I have over 6 years of experience working as a bartender in multiple large metropolitan cities, and I've never seen it this bad.

I haven't lived in Miami consistently for about 15 years. In that time, I've been back twice (once I was stuck there during Covid). I've got a wife and family now that I've never really explored Miami with.

I was trying to use Waymo to get to South Beach but the app said drop off isn't available. I've heard it's a popular service in Miami.

I'm a techno fan looking for sets at Hocus Pocus, which days to attend and if any other artists will be announced before the event, especially since I'm not a fan of house music and Funk Assault is playing on Friday.

My grandma stopped in the middle of the expressway to record the truck driver who cut her off. I'm worried about her safety and the potential danger to others.

I'm a software worker living in Miami, originally from the Netherlands. I've been here since 2018 and I'm trying to remember the name of a department store from my childhood that used to be at the southern end of the Suniland shopping center, near the movie theater on Dixie Hwy.

I'm getting married next year and I need a caterer for a plated dinner with open bar, passed appetizers, late night bites, and dessert station for 100 people. I've been quoted over $30,000 and I'm looking for something cheaper. My venue has a prep area but no kitchen, but I have space for an outdoor kitchen. I've heard of restaurants that do drop-off catering and food trucks that can provide fancier setups. I'm hoping to find a caterer that can provide high-quality food and service for under $15,000.

My father found a Sulcata African tortoise on the road and we're planning to keep it, but we're not sure if it belongs to someone in the area.

I've been noticing changes in the area between Coconut Grove and Little Havana, where older homes are being renovated or demolished to make way for new, more expensive developments.

I'm looking for a good therapist to evaluate and treat my ADHD, I've been experiencing all the signs and have been successful despite it. I'm wondering if anyone knows of any good doctors in Miami who take insurance?

I'm moving to Miami soon and I'm looking for local newspapers and journals that provide real inside news, not just national coverage.

I'm a British student considering PhD positions in computer science at the University of Miami, and I'm trying to plan my living expenses for the upcoming year. I've been researching but couldn't find any information on the PhD stipend for CS students at UM. I'm hoping to get an idea of how much I can expect to earn to cover my living costs.

I manage properties in Miami and I've noticed there's a boat marooned on Hoby Beach every month. I'm wondering if they're abandoned or have no value.

I'm training for the Philly Marathon and need to find new places to run in Miami. I've done Key Biscayne, but I'm looking for more options with long, uninterrupted space for my long runs, which are getting up to 18 miles.

I've been searching for the perfect espresso martini recipe, and I recently had one at Mila that blew me away. I'm hoping someone can share the recipe or at least give me a clue about what makes it so special.

I'm trying to understand how the low condo inventory in Miami affects condo sales. I've read that the number of active existing-condo listings has fallen 9.04% from a year ago, but at the same time, existing condos have 12.1 months of supply, which is considered a buyer's market. I'm trying to figure out what this means for condo owners and buyers.

I used to love going to this market with my family, but the crowd has become unbearable. They're always asking annoying questions and taking up too much space. I've even seen them blocking the walkways with their carts. I'm starting to avoid going there altogether. Is there a way to address the problem of rude and entitled visitors?

I'm getting frustrated with the parking situation in Coral Gables. I used to be able to park for free or cheap, but now I need to use three different apps and pay $15-$20. Are the businesses really losing money?

I'm visiting Miami with my wife and our 1-year-old baby. I'm trying to figure out how transportation works with a little one. I've heard that in Miami, Uber drivers may not always have a car seat. What are you supposed to do if your Uber driver arrives without one?
