Where to honor the unknown in Mexico City?

My family will be visiting Mexico City for the first time in 30 years and we want to honor our loved ones we can't locate a grave for. We'd like to spend our time at a place that celebrates the unknown.

Families in Mexico typically celebrate the holiday by setting up a private ofrenda, or altar, in their homes. They share meals like pan de muerto and gather with relatives. While visiting cemeteries is a common tradition, it's not mandatory, and the home altar remains the central focus of the celebration. In fact, many families spend hours preparing the ofrenda, carefully arranging flowers, candles, and photographs of their loved ones.

In most Mexican towns, it's not typical to visit the grave of an ancestor on this holiday. Instead, families set up an altar or make an offering for their deceased in their own home. This is often a diverse and changing tradition, varying from state to state, city to city, and even from family to family.
