Heavy Rain and High Surf Alert in Los Cabos This Week
As a retired teacher who moved to Los Cabos in 2022, I’ve seen my fair share of weather alerts, but the recent heavy rain and high surf warning is definitely worth noting. Los Cabos authorities have issued a preventive weather alert due to three low-pressure systems developing off Mexico’s Pacific coast. The most likely candidate to strengthen is positioned south of Jalisco, Michoacán, and Colima, and could move toward Los Cabos by Wednesday, September 23.

Be prepared for heavy rain, strong wind gusts, and high surf. The beach areas across Los Cabos may be flagged red as wave heights increase, especially if the system strengthens. Follow official information sources for updates and avoid crossing flooded roads or arroyos.
Protección Civil is urging residents and visitors to secure outdoor furniture and follow only official information. The XV Ayuntamiento of Los Cabos is emphasizing public safety as the top priority.
This is a reminder for those planning beach days or water activities this week to check daily updates from municipal authorities and confirm conditions with hotel staff or tour operators before heading out. The municipality will continue issuing timely advisories as the forecast becomes clearer.
