I'm living in Koreatown and my building is way over charging and there are rampant ADA violations and I'm severely disabled. I came from NYC and there are a ton of New York specific apps/resources. I need to move further east and or north than where I am now.

I found Zillow really useful.

If you're having trouble finding a rental in LA, consider reaching out to a real estate agent who regularly posts weekly rental availability on a popular online platform. They may be able to provide you with more information or even help you find a place that fits your needs.

I found my 'under market value' studio through Craigslist just last year. The apartment manager was quite lazy and didn't bother to show the place properly, so the pictures were subpar and the balcony wasn't even mentioned. Additionally, it's a good idea to drive around the neighborhoods you're interested in and look for 'For Rent' signs. Many landlords prefer to avoid online listings and scammers, which might be why you see so many mom-and-pop shops putting up their own signs.

I had success finding an apartment on Trulia, and since I needed an ADA unit, I appreciated that many of the listings included video tours. This allowed me to assess whether it was worth making the effort to visit the property in person.
