I met a firefighter at my front door last week when I called 911 for a fire emergency. He was charming and I was impressed by his demeanor. I'm curious to know what firefighters do when they're not fighting fires.

Many firefighters in Toronto/GTA have side jobs in the trades and contracting business. They often work with construction companies or start their own small businesses.

I know one firefighter who has a second job teaching CPR and wilderness training. He loves the outdoors and wants to share his skills with others.

I'm a firefighter and when I'm not working, I like to make chili, work out, and fix things around the house. I also enjoy wearing my firefighter pants and shirt off while I'm working on projects at home. Occasionally, I volunteer to feed the homeless in our community.
