My now wife used Shawn Scott at Berkshire for her divorce. Wasn’t exactly cheap but very smooth. It was under 10k but I can’t remember how much under, maybe 7ish all said and done.

Isleville Playground in the North End has a splash pad perfect for hot summer days with kids. It's a great place to meet friends and have fun, as one resident remembers from their childhood.

The Grainery is a volunteer-operated food co-op that sells organic and healthy food options at a discounted price. You can get organic beans for 40% of the price of them now. They're only open 2-3 days per week, but you can also order online. You can find them at the Brewery Market downtown on the weekends, or visit their physical location. They also have a table at the Brewery Market every first Saturday of the month.

Maria Alexandria is a massage therapist who works out of her house in Halifax and is amazing. She is a great option for those looking for a tip-free experience. She will not take a tip from you, which is a refreshing change from the usual tipping culture.

Try Brilliant on Granville, the guy there has fixed some weird stacked-band stuff for me before and actually seemed to enjoy the puzzle of it Brilliant also has a location in Dartmouth, near the Portland St Superstore, if that's closer for you.

Recommended for a date, especially if you get a seated at the bar. It's better for a birthday date compared to Tsukimi, which sells out often and is a small restaurant.

Depending on the size of the group, Magnolia is a great option for reasonably priced cocktails in Halifax. Their happy hour, which runs from 5-7 pm, offers decent prices especially during this time.

Tender Roots in the north end offers low-cost yoga classes, making it a great option for those just starting out. It's worth noting that the first few classes can be intimidating, but don't worry about looking like an idiot - everyone's too focused on not falling over themselves to notice anyone else.

The Maritime Museum of the Atlantic is a great place to spend some time near the waterfront. It's a nice way to learn about the maritime history of the region. It's also worth taking the woodside ferry across and back, and the Alderney ferry across and back, for a relaxing and scenic ride.

The Cole Harbour Heritage Farm has goats that you might be able to pet. While you may not be able to hold them, the farm keeps them in a pen for their own safety, and they are born in March or April, which is a great time to visit.

The Seaport Social at the Westin offers traditional Thanksgiving dinners. It's a safe bet for a hassle-free meal.

Habitat for Humanity or Parker Street might be able to pick up donations, including furniture, but it's unclear about smaller items. They require a lot of advance notice for pickup, so it's worth considering alternative options like posting on Marketplace or reaching out to the building's superintendent for local connections.

The Narrows is a spot for its East Coast vibes, live music on weekends, and incredible food. They offer vegetarian options, including taters, deviled eggs, and a chopped salad. The fried taters are a standout, with blocks of mashed potatoes battered to perfection.

Vessel Meats, a butcher shop in Dartmouth, is a prime example of how local and sustainable sourcing can elevate the dining experience. The shop works with small and mid-sized farms across Atlantic Canada, so that the meats they offer are fresh and support local agriculture. One of the standout features is their fall flavours initiative, which showcases the rich, seasonal offerings from the region. For those interested in exploring the local food scene, Vessel Meats is a spot. Their focus on using Nova Scotian ingredients is a reflection of the quality and diversity of what the area has to offer.
