Winter is finally around the corner, and Tampa’s Riverwalk is getting a much-needed upgrade. Starting in January, Hotel Cala is set to open, replacing the former Sheraton at 200 N Ashley Drive. The new hotel, backed by Hilton, will feature two upscale dining concepts and a variety of amenities, making it a must-visit spot for both locals and visitors.

Inside the hotel, LAVO will serve as the signature restaurant, offering elevated coastal Italian cuisine with a menu centered on house-made pastas and signature dishes. BarOnda will provide a more casual waterfront experience, perfect for enjoying cocktails and shareable bites. Along with the dining options, the hotel will offer a resort-style pool deck, 24-hour fitness center, and event space.

Neil Luthra, founding partner of Newbond Holdings, stated, 'For more than half a century, this site has been part of the fabric of downtown Tampa, and Hotel Cala gives us the opportunity to reimagine it for a new generation.' Residents and expats in Tampa can now look forward to a new dining and hospitality destination that reflects the city’s unique character.
