Read the route on the bus windshield before you get on, and have small pesos ready

The city buses show their route on the windshield, not at the stop. So the process is simple. Stand where the buses pass, read each windshield as it comes, and put your hand out for the right one. Have small pesos in your pocket before it arrives, because I have watched a driver sigh at a large note. I do this on the way to the Mercado Municipal Rio Cuale, with bags in both hands, and the small pesos are the part that saves the morning.
