Expats and digital nomads in Miami, are you ready for a new wave of music tech innovation? Starting in October, Spain's Desafia mission will visit Miami, bringing 10 Spanish ventures focused on music tech. This is a great opportunity for those working in the tech and music industries.

The mission, which includes companies like Nevent, Musikalivr, Melbossmusic, and Upbeat Music Tech Studio, will participate in Billboard Latin Music Week and meet with potential business partners. Isabel Aranda Ortega, manager of the music sector at Spain's export and investment agency ICEX, explains, 'Miami offers a unique opportunity to integrate into a highly competitive ecosystem, accelerate growth, and establish a solid base for expansion in the Americas.'

Miami is a hub for Spanish-language music, with headquarters for many record labels, streaming platforms, and even music startups. This Desafia mission comes at a time when Spanish music, with artists like Rosalia and Bad Bunny, is booming in global popularity. The 10 selected companies will attend meetings and a bootcamp in Spain before their Miami visit, and ICEX will help them follow up on leads and build their businesses.

As a Miami expat, I'm excited to see what this mission brings to the local music tech scene. If you're in the tech and music industries, make sure to network with these Spanish ventures and explore potential collaborations. The opportunities for growth and innovation are significant.

Arrived in Miami in 2019 from Brazil. Still figuring things out, writing it down as it happens.
