Los Cabos Hotels Ramp Up Ocean Safety Warnings for Guests

As you settle into your luxury resort in Los Cabos, you might notice something different this year. Hotel staff are now emphasizing ocean safety more than ever, especially with the recent rough swells from offshore tropical storms.

The Los Cabos Hotel Association (AHLC) has mandated a new push to educate guests about the risks of the Pacific Ocean. The AHLC's executive president, Lilzi Orcí, highlights the danger of overestimating one's swimming abilities. The region's waters, known for their sudden drop-offs and powerful rip currents, pose significant risks that can't be ignored, even for seasoned swimmers.

Now, during check-in, hotel staff will explicitly brief you on the beach flag warning system. A black flag means extreme danger, and you're not allowed to approach the water. This is to ensure everyone's safety, as conditions can change rapidly due to the strong waves and undertows.
