Can I enter my tenant's locked room in Tampa after she signed a lease to vacate?

My tenant signed a lease agreement to vacate her room in August, and her official last day was two days ago. However, she left the room locked and didn't hand over the keys to me. I've tried contacting her, but we haven't gotten a clear resolution yet.

Ask a lawyer, that's the best advice I can give you.

Consider allocating a portion of your rent money towards hiring a lawyer, which can be a legitimate business expense.

Filing an eviction with the sheriff is a necessary step, as breaking a lock is not a viable or legal solution. This is because a lease is a binding legal agreement that must be enforced through the proper channels.

Even if the lease has ended, the tenant remains protected as long as her personal belongings are still inside the property. In Florida, there are specific laws governing abandonment, which can be checked to determine the necessary steps to take. Once the applicable period has passed, it may be possible to enter the property.
