I'm driving north on 635 and I see these weird lights at Preston Crossing. They're like art or something, but it's a weird place for it.

They're art installations. They're supposed to be something, but I'm not sure what.

Actually, they're herd cameras, a new upgrade to flock cameras that help monitor traffic and pedestrian flow.

Evening drives down the main streets reveal the ornamental lights in a different light. Hopefully the city has kept up with maintenance.

Decorative street lights are designed to cast light back down onto the pedestrian crossing, making it safer for everyone. This approach is a more elegant way to achieve the same goal.

Actually, these lights are all over Addison, and I think they're designed to not distract planes flying in and out of the airport.

The unique design of these lights features bars on top that emit light downward, while the winged shapes are made of mesh material to prevent glare from entering the eyes of drivers. Additionally, these lights serve a dual purpose as bollards, protecting both pedestrians and cars from potential hazards.
