The Fiscalía General de la República just dropped a bomb: piropos (compliments) can now land you in jail in El Salvador. Yep, you read that right. If someone’s making you feel uncomfortable with their comments or actions, it’s not just about politeness anymore. The law now covers everything from explicit insinuations to unwanted touches, and even certain types of eye contact or persistent messages. It’s all part of the acoso sexual (sexual harassment) in the books now.
