The 2026 Michelin Guide Texas has been released, and it’s not exactly a celebration for Dallas’s culinary scene. The guide, which aims to highlight the best in dining, has left some local establishments feeling unloved. This news is particularly disappointing for digital nomads and expats who have been eagerly awaiting new dining options and top-notch cuisine in the city.

Michelin Guide Dallas: Not Much Good News for Local Eateries

While some high-profile restaurants have managed to secure a star or two, many local favorites have been left out, much to the dismay of the community. As someone who has lived in Dallas all my life, I can say that this is a blow for the city’s reputation as a destination for top-notch dining experiences.

The Michelin Guide is a trusted source for food enthusiasts, and its absence of Dallas’s culinary gems can impact how new residents and visitors perceive the city. For expats and digital nomads, this means that the city might not be as sought after for its dining scene as previously thought. It also highlights the ongoing challenges of establishing a strong culinary identity in a city where the food scene is often overshadowed by more established metropolitan areas like New York or Los Angeles.
