Hue’s New Night Street and River Tourism Plans: A Guide for Expats and Digital Nomads
Living in Da Nang, I’ve always been fascinated by the city’s rich history and culture. Recently, I heard some exciting news from my home city, Hue, about new plans for night street and river-based tourism. As a local and tour guide, this caught my attention, especially for expats and digital nomads like myself who are always on the lookout for new experiences.
Le Tri Thanh, the chairman of the People’s Committee of Hue City, has proposed developing a night street that connects Dong Ba Market with Bach Dang Street. This project aims to enhance the area’s commercial and tourism potential, creating an engaging evening experience that can attract both locals and tourists.
At the heart of this plan is the Dong Ba Market, a place I know well. The market is planning a renovation that balances the needs of local residents with those of tourists. This means creating a space that not only serves as a traditional shopping hub but also offers unique experiences linked to the area's cultural heritage.
The plan also includes exploring opportunities on the Nhu Y River. Chairman Thanh proposed floating restaurants and river-based accommodations, forming a chain of night-time attractions. These ideas are still in the study phase, and all proposals will be carefully assessed for their environmental, urban, and cultural impact before implementation.
As someone who’s always eager to share the best of my city, I’m excited to see how these plans develop. Whether you’re a longtime resident or just passing through, these changes could offer a new perspective on Hue’s rich history and culture. Keep an eye out for updates and perhaps plan a visit to see these new attractions in action!
