Renueva Cancún: Cancún Municipality Launches Program to Boost Hotel Investment and Modernization
The Municipality of Benito Juárez, led by President Ana Patricia Peralta de la Peña, has announced the launch of the 'Renueva Cancún' program aimed at boosting hotel investment and modernizing Cancún's hospitality offerings. This initiative includes a temporary exemption from municipal right-of-way fees for hotel renovations, allowing establishments to update their facilities without incurring the usual costs. As of the time of the announcement, 97 hotels had undergone renovations in Cancún since October 2024, generating approximately 18 million pesos in municipal revenue.

By reducing the administrative burdens associated with renovations, the program seeks to facilitate investments and encourage improvements in tourist facilities, ensuring Cancún maintains its appeal as a destination. This initiative is part of the Cancún Travel Mart 2026 event, highlighting Cancún's efforts to modernize and remain competitive in the global tourism market.
The program's objective is to support the hotel sector and contribute to the overall development of Cancún, making it a more attractive and sustainable destination for visitors. This includes reducing operational costs and enhancing the aesthetic and functional aspects of hotel premises.
