Starbucks has undergone significant upgrades to several of its Alberta locations as part of a broader effort to rebrand itself as a more inviting neighborhood coffeehouse. The changes include warmer color schemes, upgraded seating, and improved order flow through the app. Two reimagined stores in Calgary-located at Deerfoot Meadows and Southcentre Mall-have undergone these upgrades, with a third location in Red Deer also receiving a makeover.

  • Design Elements: The stores have embraced cozier seating options like couches and armchairs, enhancing guests' experience by allowing them to stay longer.
  • Art and Photography: Neighborhood-inspired art and photography have been incorporated to add a personal touch.
  • Espresso Bars: The redesigns have focused on giving customers a better view of the beverage preparation process.
  • Order Flow: Dedicated spaces for customers ordering ahead using the app have been created to streamline the process.
These upgrades are part of Starbucks’ ongoing efforts to revitalize its Canadian locations, with plans to continue these uplifts at thousands of other stores in the U.S. and Canada over the next few years.
