DLT Bangkok - when did the booking only policy start?

DLT Bangkok - when did the booking only policy start?

I recently tried to renew my driver's license at the Bang Chak DLT and was told I had to book an online queue, which is taking 3 months. I couldn't find any information about this policy change on their website. Who benefits from this change and why was it implemented?

The grace period for expired driver's licenses has been extended to one year.

I've visited three different stations in the past month, and it seems that everyone is required to start the process four months before their license expires. This is a good lesson to learn, and I wish I had known about it sooner.

The four-month waiting time for license renewal is excessive, and I'm surprised that walk-ins were previously allowed. I couldn't find any information about this rule change, so it seems like I'm out of luck.

I've had a different experience at my driving school, where another student was able to walk in and get their license the same day. However, I've visited two other stations in the past eight years, and they both required a one-month wait. It seems like some stations are more lenient than others.
