Can I recover my lost AIS tourist SIM number

Can I recover my lost AIS tourist SIM number?

Transport il y a 2sem 6 answers • Ploy S

I've been using my AIS tourist SIM for over 2 years and it's linked to my Thai bank accounts. I lost the physical card while overseas and I'm not sure if I can recover the number. Has anyone done this before?

To recover your old SIM number, you'll need to contact AIS. If the number has been inactive for a while, they might have reassigned it, making it impossible to retrieve. To inquire, gather all relevant documents, including your passport and any other identification, and head to the nearest AIS office.

I've changed my Thai phone number multiple times, and my Bangkok Bank was always able to assist with the process. Although it's a relatively time-consuming process, requiring a lot of paperwork.

Some countries now require a stamped visa for certain services, including changing your phone number. I'd rather avoid the hassle of applying for a visa.

There's a possibility that an expired tourist SIM card has been reassigned to a physical SIM card and is stored somewhere. However, AIS is unlikely to know its current status. If you're lucky, the number might still be available for assignment, but it's a long shot. You can try contacting AIS, but don't expect a positive outcome.

I've been paying my KPlus subscription every month, but I've lost my physical card and I'm currently abroad.

If you've lost your phone, it's possible to recover your SIM number with a new physical or eSIM. Many phones are lost or damaged, so there are procedures in place to handle such situations. You might need to visit an AIS shop, but if your phone supports eSIM, you could try converting it to an eSIM instead.
