How long does Aviva insurance take to process and pay off a loan after a car is stolen?

I filled a police report and insurance claims. Since it’s a long weekend, I’m expecting to get a call from the adjuster on Tuesday. I have a negative equity from my first car that carried over to my current balance - are they going to pay that too? (I have removal of depreciation coverage) Are personal items covered?

The insurance payout will likely be based on the vehicle's depreciated value, which might be lower than the amount you owe on the loan. If you had negative equity rolled into the loan, you'll need to resolve that separately once the loan is paid off.

Without depreciation coverage, you'll receive the original purchase price of the car in 2024, rather than the Bluebook value of a similar used model. This amount will be based on the car's value at the time of purchase.

After the insurance company completes their investigation and verifies your ownership, they'll send you a settlement payment. You'll need to return the vehicle's keys as part of this process. If you can't find your ownership documents, the insurance company may request them, but this can take some time.
