Woodbine Mall Gets Retro ’80s Roller Skating Rink This Week

After a few more months of summer, it’s time to lace up your skates! Starting this Friday, September 25, Woodbine Mall is set to transform into a nostalgic throwback with a neon-lit, ’80s-inspired roller-skating rink. The SUSO Skate Co. is bringing their pop-up rink to the mall’s lower level, offering a fun, retro skating experience for both beginners and seasoned skaters.

The rink will operate on Wednesdays through Sundays, with separate all-ages and 16-plus sessions. All-ages skating runs from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays, 4 to 7 p.m. on Fridays, and 12 to 7 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. For those looking to turn it into a retro date night, dedicated 16-plus sessions run from 7 to 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Admission for adults is $14, and kids and seniors pay $12. Skate rentals start at $18 for an hour, and protective gear is available at no additional charge for skaters under 16, though those under 13 must be accompanied by an adult and wear protective equipment.

While it’s a great opportunity to relive the ’80s, make sure you bring your own skates or rent a pair to avoid any last-minute surprises. The rink is expected to operate for about a year, so there’s plenty of time to skate your way through the season.
