ASORE Highlights Local Products as Key to Restaurant Sector Growth
The Puerto Rico Restaurants Association (ASORE) is positioning local products as a key driver of innovation and growth within the island's restaurant sector for their upcoming ASORE Restaurant Show. The event, taking place from October 30-31 at the Puerto Rico Convention Center, will feature demonstrations of Puerto Rican ingredients in the Demo Kitchen Sabores de Nuestra Tierra, highlight the supply chain for local products, and include bartender competitions showcasing local spirits. Additionally, university and high school students will have an opportunity to learn about local gastronomy through the Copa Cultural Gastronómica Puertorriqueña. The show will also offer educational sessions and training programs to strengthen operational and managerial capabilities in the sector.

ASORE President Dr. Sonia Navarro emphasized that the purchasing power of restaurants can strengthen Puerto Rico's agriculture and manufacturing ecosystem. She highlighted that restaurants can transform local products into new experiences for consumers while generating opportunities for farmers, producers, manufacturers, and suppliers. The event will also integrate the new ASORE Restaurant Summit, which will provide insights into legal issues affecting employers, including labor legislation, tip regulations, immigration matters, and the appropriate use of technology in the workplace.
The ASORE Restaurant Show is open to entrepreneurs and professionals in the prepared-foods and gastronomic industries. Participants must present their Merchant Registry to enter.
