Zombies, Clowns, and Costumes: Celaya Celebrates Its First Zombie Walk!
San Miguel de Allende isn’t the only town in Guanajuato with a love for the macabre and fun. Just a short drive away, Celaya recently hosted its first Caminata Zombie, a thrilling event that brought together locals and visitors for a night of scary fun.
The walk took place on October 27, 2023, and attracted over 2,000 participants. The event started at the historic Plaza de Armas and made its way through the city’s main streets, with participants dressed in the most creative and frightening costumes you can imagine. The highlight of the night was the parade of zombies and clowns, which added an extra layer of excitement to the already spooky atmosphere.
Organizers of the event, including local businesses and community groups, were thrilled with the turnout and the positive reception. One of the organizers, Mario Ruiz, said, “It was amazing to see so many people coming together to enjoy a unique experience. We hope to make this an annual tradition in Celaya.”
For those in San Miguel de Allende, it’s a reminder of the fun just a short drive away. If you’re feeling adventurous, consider making the trip to Celaya for the next event or exploring some of the local festivals and events happening in the region.
