Amado Nervo Bridge Opens, Cutting Commutes Between Puerto Vallarta and Bahía de Banderas
The Amado Nervo Bridge over the Ameca River officially opened on October 28, linking Ixtapa in Puerto Vallarta with San Vicente in Bahía de Banderas. This new bridge is expected to save up to 25 minutes on the journey between the two municipalities.

The bridge means shorter commutes: According to official estimates, the crossing from Ixtapa to San Vicente should take less than 15 minutes, while driving times between the two areas can be cut by 25 to 35 minutes compared to usual routes. The bridge features six lanes, three in each direction, a barrier wall, and a bike lane, making it safer and more efficient for daily commuters.
For expats and digital nomads like me, this bridge provides a significant improvement in daily life. Whether you're commuting to work, picking up the kids, or simply running errands, the reduced travel time can add up to more leisure time or productivity. If you're planning a road trip between the two areas, it's definitely worth checking out this new route.
