What to do after a job interview is cancelled?

I'm an American retiree living in Panama City, and I'm looking for advice on what to do after a job interview was cancelled due to an earthquake. I had already prepared and invested time and money in the process, and I'm feeling disappointed and frustrated.

Well, these things happen. Maybe you were the one they were going to choose and this was just a way for the universe to test your resolve. Either way, keep looking and don't give up.

It's probably for the best. If they were going to hire someone, they would have done it by now. You were probably just a backup plan, and they decided to go with their first choice instead.

Unfortunately, this is a common experience in our country. Employers often ask for a lot and pay less than what's fair. They're looking for someone to take advantage of, and it sounds like you were lucky to get out of this situation.

It's a shame, but something better will come along. Keep moving forward.

This can happen sometimes, and it's not your fault. But it sounds like there was probably another candidate with a more impressive resume or some kind of connection that made them more attractive to the recruiters. Don't give up, though - I had a similar experience at the Banco Nacional a few years ago, and it was a huge waste of time and money.
