Homelessness resources in Orlando?

I've been struggling to find a job and cover rent. I have a car that I can live in, but I'm worried about what might happen if I lose it. I'm a veteran, so I'm not eligible for Medicaid or food stamps. I don't have any family or friends to turn to.

Having a reliable phone or laptop can help you stay connected and access important resources. Additionally, a library card can provide you with access to a wealth of information and potentially even job search tools.

Having a stable address can greatly impact your ability to secure employment and improve your situation. If you have a trusted friend or family member who is willing to provide you with their address for official documents, it can be a significant help.

The Christian Coalition of Central Florida operates a day shelter in downtown Orlando. While they may offer spiritual support, they can also connect you with local resources and services.

As someone experiencing homelessness, I've found a few essential items to be crucial: window coverings to maintain my privacy, a front and back visor to block the sun, and a utility fan to stay cool in the Florida heat. I also rely on a 3-gallon water jug to stay hydrated.
