New Skills for the Future: Plan Trifinio Launches Fruit Conservation Training in La Libertad
Plan Trifinio has launched a new training course in La Libertad, focusing on the transformation and conservation of fruits. This initiative, which took place at the Hotel and Restaurant School in La Palma, is part of their ongoing efforts to support local communities and promote sustainable economic development in the Trifinio region.

According to Sergio Bran, the director of Plan Trifinio El Salvador, the training provides participants with valuable knowledge and techniques to transform and preserve local produce. The course, led by chefs Fernando Contreras and Manuel Urbina, covered the preparation of jams, fruit in syrup, and pizza sauces. This not only enhances the culinary skills of the participants but also opens up new commercial opportunities for local products.
These training sessions are part of a broader strategy by Plan Trifinio to strengthen the tourism and agricultural sectors in the region. By equipping young people with these skills, the organization aims to foster entrepreneurship and sustainable economic growth, making it easier for them to tap into the local and regional markets.
Runs surf tours out of La Libertad's harbor and can tell you which reef break is firing before you've even checked the forecast.
