TEDxCancún 2026: A New Wave of Ideas for the Changing Coast
TEDxCancún 2026 is set to bring a fresh wave of ideas and perspectives to Cancún on November 20th, with eight speakers sharing insights on sustainability, culture, innovation, and heritage. As a long-time resident, I noticed that the event is not only a platform for sharing knowledge but also a reflection of the evolving community.

The theme Ecos del Caribe encourages attendees to look beyond the tourist facade and explore the rich diversity of local challenges and opportunities. It’s a chance for us to see how personal experiences can lead to community transformation.
Among the speakers, Sakurako Yakushiji will discuss innovation and cultural connections, while Omar Vásquez will share his work on repurposing sargazo into sustainable solutions. These topics are particularly relevant in a place like Cancún, where the natural environment and cultural heritage are constantly in flux.
For expats and digital nomads, this event is not just a chance to listen but to engage with the local community and contribute to its growth. If you’re interested, mark your calendars and get ready to be inspired.
