During her visit to Chetumal, Governor Mara Lezama announced the first dedicated cooking workshop for traditional Quintana Roo cuisine. The event, titled 'Cocineras Tradicionales en Tulum', will be held on November 21st and 22nd at the Jaguar Park, offering free admission and a variety of dishes from different Mayan communities. Participants include certified traditional cooks from various regions such as Chetumal, Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Tulum, Playa del Carmen, Nuevo Durango, and Lazaro Cárdenas. Attendees will have the opportunity to taste dishes like octopus tacos, black and white stuffed corn, and chaya enchiladas. The event aims to highlight and preserve the culinary heritage of Quintana Roo.

The workshop, which features traditional smoke cooking, will run from 11:00 to 17:00. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs and coverings as the weather can be unpredictable. Visitors and locals are warmly invited to join the celebration of Quintana Roo's gastronomic diversity.
