... Calgary Students Launch Fun Run for Legal Access...
- Undergraduate Access to Justice (A2J) at UCalgary is hosting an inaugural Justice Run on Oct. 17, inviting all community members to participate in a 5km run and 1km walk. The event aims to raise funds for A2J and their partner, UCalgary’s Student Legal Assistance (SLA), with prizes including a PS5 and scholarships.

The celebration is free and open to everyone, providing an opportunity for the community to engage with the initiative and see what UCalgary’s legal services have to offer. - Zahraa Virk, A2J president, emphasizes the importance of accessibility, ensuring the event is welcoming to all fitness levels and backgrounds. The run is scheduled at Varsity Village Park and the Bow River pathways, followed by a community celebration at Central Commons Park.
- Virk founded A2J in May and sees a gap in legal awareness, aiming to bridge this gap by offering accessible legal guidance to the community. The funds raised will support future events and services provided by A2J and its partners, promoting the importance of legal access and education.
