Free Trees and Plants in El Salvador: Where and When to Grab Your Greenery
Residents of El Zonte and digital nomads alike, get your green thumb ready! This Saturday, the Ministry of Public Works (MOP) is launching its MOP Verde initiative, offering free trees and plants across the country. The event kicks off at 9:00 AM and will continue until supplies run out.

The distribution points are strategically located in San Ignacio (Chalatenango Norte), the central park of Suchitoto (Cuscatlán), BINAES in San Salvador, and the parks of Jucuarán and Jucuapa (Usulután). These locations were chosen to ensure easy access for locals and expats alike.
While the initiative is a welcome boost for urban and rural green spaces, it's worth noting that the event could get crowded. Plan to arrive early if you're looking to secure your share of the greenery. The MOP announced the schedule on September 11, so mark your calendars now.
