We're planning a romantic getaway to Tulum in December and want to stay somewhere with a jungle vibe and prioritize safety.

If you're looking for a hotel in Tulum, I'd suggest La Veleta due to its unique setting within a lush, natural environment and its proximity to the town center. The property is also more secluded and secure, with a gated entrance, which can provide a sense of peace of mind. Additionally, the hotel offers transportation services, so you won't have to worry about navigating the area at night.

After staying in Aldea Zama three times, I'd choose La Veleta again. Aldea Zama is a residential area with narrow one-way roads and roundabouts that can be tricky to navigate without a GPS. La Veleta, on the other hand, felt more welcoming and tourist-friendly, making it easier to get around and find local amenities.

I agree with you about Aldea Zama being quiet, but I found that Google Maps often sent me up one-way streets. La Veleta is a better option if you want to be within walking distance to amenities.
