Feria del Alfeñique Returns to Parque Morelos with Month-Long Traditions
The beloved Feria del Alfeñique is back in San Miguel de Allende, with 194 vendors setting up in Parque Morelos from October 1st to November 3rd. This festival, a staple of the Dia de Muertos celebrations, brings a month-long celebration of candy, calaveritas, costumes, and family-friendly activities. As a local business owner, I can’t help but be excited about the influx of visitors and the chance to support the community.

The fair will feature a wide array of vendors, including traditional alfeñiques and calaveritas. You can also expect to see food stalls, craft vendors, and various activities for the whole family. Local artists and artisans will showcase their work, making it a must-visit event for both locals and expats. This year, the event is expanding its offerings, with additional cultural activities and performances. The Casa del Terror will also be open, adding a spooky yet fun twist to the festivities.
For those planning to visit, here are a few practical tips: Parking can be a challenge, but there are designated areas in the park. The estacionamiento subterráneo (underground parking) will be open, but it may be at a premium. It’s best to arrive early or plan to park outside the park and walk in.
