I'm looking for advice on uninterrupted running paths in Phoenix for marathon training. I'm used to running in Houston parks with paved paths, bathrooms, and water available, but I'll take whatever I can get. I'm interested in finding a place to do my 17-21 mile long runs.

Considering the green belt in Scottsdale, the canal system, or Tempe town lake area, all three have proven to be good options for me. I've had positive experiences with each of them.

I'm curious about the bathroom and water fountain facilities at these locations. Are they well-maintained and easily accessible?

As far as I know, the only bathrooms near the canal are located near the Town lake marina boat launch, which is a convenient spot for those looking to take a break.

If you're on the north side, Rio Vista park in Peoria offers a convenient starting point with three different directions to head out from. Additionally, all road crossings are underpasses, making it a great option for loops. There's also a bathroom available for those who need it.

Sonoran Desert Drive is a great option for running or cycling training, located a little north of the main area. You can park at the Apache Wash trailhead and enjoy a paved trail that runs along the road in either direction. The trail is mostly flat, with some gentle rollers to keep things interesting, and is approximately 6 miles long.
