La Chorrera, Panama City-In a move that could benefit expats and digital nomads alike, the municipality of La Chorrera has inaugurated a unique fountain that generates drinking water from air humidity. The installation, managed by the Municipality of La Chorrera with support from Alternative Water Corp. and the Ministry of Education, marks the first of its kind in the province of West Panama.

A Groundbreaking Fountain Brings Clean Water to La Chorrera Schools

The La Mitra General Basic Education Center now boasts a sustainable water source, capable of producing clean drinking water using solar energy. This technology not only addresses the immediate need for safe water but also serves as an educational tool for students to learn about innovative solutions for resource management.

Mayor Eloy Chong highlighted the importance of this project, stating, 'This initiative strengthens access to drinking water at the school and serves as a valuable educational tool for students.' Alexander Ermakov, manager of Alternative Water Corp., added, 'The system operates autonomously and with low environmental impact, making it an ideal solution for hard-to-reach communities.'

With plans to expand this technology to more educational centers and communities, this project is a significant step towards sustainable water solutions in Panama. For those living in or visiting La Chorrera, this fountain could mean easier access to clean water and a chance to see firsthand how innovative solutions can improve daily life.
