I've always noticed that most people who work downtown in LA drive, even if they can afford not to. It's hard for me to think of an LA equivalent to the professional white-collar jobs in cities like San Francisco or Boston, where it's normal to take public transit to work.

People living in Los Angeles often have a train within walking distance of their home, but it's not a common experience for the majority of the city's residents. In fact, the city is not very walkable.

Most American cities have decent public transportation, but can you name three cities that are similar to Los Angeles in terms of size and sprawl?

San Francisco, Boston, and Seattle are a few examples of cities that have more compact and walkable neighborhoods. They also have well-developed public transportation systems.

In cities like Los Angeles, the wealthy often prefer to drive or be driven, rather than using public transportation. This is partly because they can afford the luxury of owning a car and having a parking space. The crowded and dirty conditions of public transportation are not a desirable experience for them.
