Why is Paladin security inconsistent at Dartmouth General?

Why is Paladin security inconsistent at Dartmouth General?

I'm at the emergency room and I've noticed that some people are getting screened with a wand and having their bags checked, while others are being let through without being screened. I've noticed a pattern where people of different backgrounds are being treated differently, and I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

I've noticed similar issues at other hospitals. Perhaps the problem lies with the screening process for staff.

I've seen the same inconsistencies at the QEII, where staff members seem to be given preferential treatment by flashing their badges and walking through. It's particularly noticeable when you're stuck in a chair for hours, and you get to observe the varying levels of security checks. This isn't limited to staff, as I've also seen security guards letting people through who appear to be acquaintances, even when they're not authorized personnel.

It's Paladin, if you have a heartbeat they'll accept you. I'm not even sure that's a requirement, but they're definitely not doing a thorough job.

Staff aren't screened, and neither are patients.

Paladin is a company that cuts every corner possible. I'm not surprised they're not doing a good job with security.

The security screening contract is held by Paladin, a B.C. based company that has contracts across Canada. They've had a contentious relationship with the union representing the employees, and they pay their workers very little. The hospital-employed security workers at the IWK make substantially more and have better training and resources.
