My laptop has 8GB RAM and has become slow, I want to add a 16GB extra ram so I don’t have to replace my laptop. I’m using an ASUS VIVOBOOK X415EA.

You can find a variety of shops selling RAMs in the Bur Dubai area.

Before checking RAM, it's helpful to know what type of storage you're currently using. Is it an SSD or HDD? If you're using an HDD, switching to an SSD can significantly improve your laptop's speed, especially for an 11th Gen Intel laptop.

This laptop features an SSD RAID 500 GB, an 11th Gen Intel Core i5 processor with a 2.40 GHz clock speed, and Intel Iris Xe Graphics with 128 MB of dedicated memory.

To optimize your laptop's performance, check which app is consuming the most resources on the CPU and RAM. You can also disable background apps that run at startup to prevent them from using unnecessary CPU or RAM resources.

The laptop in question has one slot for an additional RAM SODIMM, which means it can be upgraded to a maximum of 16 GB. If you're considering adding more RAM, you'll need to know the exact configuration, such as the amount of soldered RAM. The price of 8 GB SODIMM used RAM from brands like Hynix or Crucial can range from 75 to 100 AED. However, adding more RAM may not necessarily solve your problem if the issue lies with the operating system or other hardware components.

The laptop has 8 GB soldered RAM, and I was thinking of adding a 16 GB SODIMM. However, I've been informed that the maximum capacity is 16 GB. I'll need to explore other options. The price of 16 GB SODIMM from Crucial has increased to around 450 AED, up from 250 AED earlier.
