I've been following the Oncor delivery charges in Dallas and noticed a significant increase. I'm curious to know if there's a logical explanation behind this rise.

Big companies often raise prices to increase their profits. It's a common business practice. Unfortunately, there's little consumers can do to stop it.

I think one possible reason for the price increase is the significant delivery charges. Last month, I paid $87 in delivery fees.

According to Oncor's published financial documents, they reported a net income of $640 million for the first six months of 2026. This represents a $200 million increase compared to the same period in 2025, a growth of over 45%. The CEO's compensation package also includes a base pay of $1.3 million and an incentive bonus of $2.5 million, totaling $3.8 million in 2025.

The current residential allocation for the TCRF is 42.4%. This is a decrease from 45.88% in March 2025. The updated residential TCRF rate is $0.021669 per kilowatt-hour, which is slightly lower than last year's fall/winter rate of $0.023580 per kilowatt-hour.

The deregulation of the Texas grid, which created two separate entities, has led to higher electricity rates for consumers. A study found that since deregulation, Texas consumers have paid $25 billion more for electricity than they should have. While some states have higher electricity costs, Texas rates are among the highest in the country, despite relying heavily on natural gas for power generation.

I recall the refund checks from the past and even supported Richards, but the issue lies in the distribution side, which remains a monopoly. The retail market, however, is working well, and I've saved money by switching providers using the PowerToChoose site.
